Meadow Tapestry

An embroidered meadow emerging slowly across handwoven cloth.

The central meadow has been embroidered by our team through small details, and careful threadwork that together create a quiet textile landscape. The base fabric itself has been handwoven by Bodo women, bringing another layer of handwork and regional textile practice into the piece.

Running stitches worked vertically and horizontally across the surface provide the finishing touches to the tapestry. These lines create structure and rhythm, gently holding together the different textures, colours, and forms within the work.

Part textile, part landscape, the tapestry brings together weaving, embroidery, repetition, and collective making into a single object.
