Threads That Travel

One of the loveliest things about this journey has been that friends and well-wishers often think of our work when they encounter embroidery during their travels. This post is a collection of the photographs they have shared, along with their reflections and observations.
Saumya, Dubai: "I was at a fair where I saw this at a Palestinian stall. They do a lot of cross stitch and this finer variety. Not on the Aida material."

Snehal, Kerala: "Jewish hand embroidery for you."

Esther, Bangalore: "I found these pretty things in a cafe and it reminded me of you."

Saumya, Delhi: "Saw this at the a Delhi metro station and was reminded of you."

Anupam, Uzbekistan: "I recently visited Bukhara for some work and noticed a beautiful connection with Indian embroidery, among other things. Interestingly, a place in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, recently received a GI tag for a similar style called Sujini. Here are a few photos from those collections."
